Талоны, выдаваемые нуждающимся гражданам страны в рамках социальной программы. Обмениваются в магазине только на продовольственные товары; ни табачные изделия, ни алкогольные напитки на них получить нельзя. Выдачей ведает Министерство сельского хозяйства [ Department of Agriculture, U.S.] через каналы местных отделов социального обеспечения. До 1977 талоны приходилось покупать, но стоили они значительно дешевле, чем продукты, которые на них можно было получить.
